The
Soil Suitability Report has been submitted to your office awaiting this water quality information.
Please find a copy of the water quality analysis report from Precision Enviro-Tech Analytical
Laboratory for the sub'gct property. Aaron Mejorado, field technician of our office, took the water
sample from a wate face] t the front of the house on March 23,2004. The sample was kept cool
and transported to thea oratory within 1.5 hours. The water was tested for DBCP and nitrate per
EHD requirements.
The results of the laboratory analysis indicates that DBCP was not detected.Nitrate was detected at
a concentration of 70.5 mg/L-NO3 which is well above the drinking water standard of 45 mg(L-NO3.
Interpretation of high concentration of nitrate in ground-water sample indicates the aquifer in which
the well is drawing maybe impacted by nitrate. Nitrate contamination in ground water commonly
originates from fertilizers, dairies,or percolating septic waste water. It is well known that parts of
the Manteca area experiences ground-water degradation from one or more of these sources. As
mentioned in the Soil Suitability Study, septic systems constructed on the site should be engineered 4
to reduce nitrates in percolating effluent leaching into the ground water. Our conclusions discussed
in the Soil Suitability Report remain unchanged.
Best regards,
ANDERSON& ASSOC., INC.
w-D GFO
avid J. elch, M.Sc., Senior Geologist 6 J 0 J- lv (O 0
CEG-2151, CHG-653 4 p No. 2151 S
CERTIFIED
ENGINEERING
cc: Syble Evans GEOLOGIST
att: precision analytical report OFC
LODI ■ SACRAMENTO ■ MODESTO
ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION 902 Industrial Way,1,od,Caffomia 95240 ■209.367.3701 ■ 209.369.4228 0 w .nomdcnon.com
