Participation in the SJMSCP satisfies requirements of both the
state and federal endangered species acts, and ensures that the impacts are mitigated below a
level of significance in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act(CEQA).
Although participation in the SJMSCP is voluntary, lead agents should be aware that if project
applicants choose against participating in the SJMSCP,they will be required to provide
alternative mitigation in an amount and kind equal to that provided in the SJMSCP.
SJCOG, Inc. has reviewed application PA-0400706 (MS). This project involves subdividing
existing parcels into two to create a financing homesite parcel. Parcel One to be 4.9 acres and
Parcel Two to be 42.4 acres. The project site is located 1,500 feet on a private access road on the
west side of Vail Road, 1,700 feet north of Barber Road, northeast Thornton.
This project will not require any land conversions. Any future structure(s) will require the
conversion of land and as such should condition the project applicant(s) to participate in the
SJMSCP.
The project is located within the unmapped land use areas and as per the requirements of the
SJMSCP those projects are subject to case-by-case review by the Habitat Technical Advisory
Committee (TAC) prior to participation.
If you have any questions, please give me a call at (209)468-3913.
