Soil Suitability Study Sheet 3 of 4
Existing Use (Cont ' d) :
Water is supplied to the existing home by a well
situate east and immediately adjacent to the garage
to the north of the home and a leach field is the
present sewage disposal system.
No wells or sewage systems were observed on the
remainder .
Soil Profile Test :
Excavation to _a depth of 12 feet was performed for
the soil profile test on the remainder at the
south end of the parcel at the location shown on
the attached Parcel Map. No water was encountered
in excavating to the 12-foot depth.
Two basic soil layers were found in excavating to
the 12-foot depth on the remainder for the Soil
Profile Test . The first layer immediately below the
surface of the ground to a depth of about seven (7 )
feet is a brown sand material . From seven (7) feet
below the ground surface to a depth of twelve ( 12)
feet , the soil is a brownish clay. The approximate
location of the Soil Profile }Tole is shown on the
attached "Parcel Map" .
Percolation Tests :
Two percolation tests were performed. One was on
Parcel No . 1 ( 1 . 89 Acres) and the other on the 20 . 0
acre remainder . Both were performed in accordance
with the percolation test procedures outlined in
the "Manual of Septic Tank Practice" , published by
Department of Health , Education and Welfare and
requirements of the San Joaquin County Public
Health Service, Environmental Health Department .
Because of the sandy nature of the test holes , both
percolation tests were conducted with perforated
plastic pipe in place in the test hole to prevent
undue sloughing.
On +-ems 19 and 20 , 1991 , two percolation tests
were performed on the above referenced property
under my direction in conformance with San Joaquin
County Ordinance No . 549 . "The approximate location
of the test holes are shown on the attached "Parcel
Map
Percolation Test Hole Nos . 1 , & 2 resulted in
percolation rates of 10 . 0 minutes per inch , 8 . 6
minutes per inch, respectively as determined on the
attached Field Note sheets .
MS-91 -80 --- Robert Mathias
