Hazelton Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95205 FEB 13 2001 <br /> Dear Ms. Jolley: Community Development Dept. <br /> Thank you for the opportunity to review the Use Permit application(UP-01-01) for a 3,500 sq. ft. <br /> unmanned fire station for the Escalon Consolidated Fire District. The project site is located at <br /> 17950 S. Van Allen Road, on the north side of State Route (SR) 120 approximately 1,200 feet <br /> east of Van Allen Road in Escalon(APN: 205-250-14). <br /> We have circulated copies of the application and plans to our Traffic Operations/Safety Units for <br /> review. Please consider the following Caltrans comments as conditions of approval for the <br /> project: <br /> 1. Based upon the 55-MPH speed limit along State Route (SR) 120 at the project site, a left turn <br /> pocket may be needed. Impact fees should be collected towards this and other future <br /> improvements. <br /> 2. Right of Way dedication to 15.24 meters (50 feet) from centerline for (SR) 120 fronting the <br /> subject property will be required. <br /> 3. Caltrans would like to review future site plans on the subject property. <br /> 4. Caltrans has commercial standards for driveways serving a commercial use with direct access <br /> onto state highways. Any new driveways as well as existing driveways shall be built or <br /> upgraded to current state standards. Where applicable any sidewalks, curb and gutter or ramp <br /> shall be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The standards are available <br /> from Frank Weishaar at(209) 948-3819. <br /> 5. A Caltrans Encroachment Permit will be required for any work performed within the right of <br /> way. Additional biological, archaeological or other environmental studies may be required as <br /> a part of the encroachment permit application.
