PA-0200006 OF <br /> MOHAMMAD AND PARVEEN KHAN <br /> The applicant has submitted the above referenced Site Approval application to establish <br /> a commercial poultry farm for the production of eggs. (Use type: Animal Raising - <br /> Small Animals) <br /> Currently, there exist two poultry houses in the middle of the 10-acre property. Each <br /> poultry house is 300-feet long and 50-feet wide. These structures are currently not <br /> consistent with the Uniform Building Code. There is a large dry pond in the rear of the <br /> property which was used to hold the manure from the chickens. The remainder of the <br /> property is planted in orchard. <br /> The applicant has proposed to use the existing poultry houses for the project. The <br /> houses will need to be brought up to Uniform Building Code standards prior to <br /> occupancy. <br /> The applicant has proposed to use the existing pond for on-site storage of chicken <br /> wastes. This pond is not shown on the site plan. Also, the applicant has not stated the <br /> amount of chickens which will be on-site. Therefore, a revised site plan must be <br /> submitted showing the following: <br /> • The location of the manure pond; and <br /> • The total number of ciiek ns proposed for the facility <br /> �O P anti <br /> The project site is located on the north side of Verigan Road, 1,070-feet east of State <br /> Route 99 East Frontage Road, north of Manteca. <br /> Background <br /> The property was previously used as a poultry farm for the production of eggs. It has <br /> been abandoned for approximately one year. <br /> The property is surrounded on all sides by parcels with agricultural uses (orchard, row <br /> crops). The properties to the west, south, and east all contain residences. <br />
