The treatment <br /> system at this plant consists of flow equalization and mixing in a million-gallon pond and aeration and <br /> storage in an 84-MG reservoir. Treated wastewater is disposed of by spray irrigation. An inspection of <br />€ this facility was conducted to determine compliance with Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs) Order <br /> No. R5-2002-0148. <br /> OBSERVATIONS AND COMMENTS: <br /> This facility was last inspected on 18 May 2006. Regional Water Board staff arrived at the facility at <br /> approximately 9:15 a.m. and introduced themselves to Ben Hall, Dennis Leikam, and Kelly Hegman. <br /> i The weather was warm and dry. Mr. Hall commented that the olive crop is 15% of normal this year. <br /> I <br /> No fields were being irrigated during the inspection. Musca staff stated that no irrigation had taken <br /> place for the past two to three days. <br />€ The land disposal facility tour started at the Pasture field ' <br /> (Figure 1). Musco staff stated that the NyPa Forage <br /> (Distichlis spicata var. yensen-4a) is planted at 2 feet on <br /> center and discussed factors affecting survival/establishment <br /> and growth. Specific factors adversely affecting NyPa <br /> Forage performance include erosion during the establishment <br /> i period, heavy soils, steep slopes, and cold weather.
