Referral, Page Two <br /> g. All recommendations of the soils engineer that were <br /> included in the soils report shall be incorporated in the <br /> construction drawings. <br /> h. Provide a copy of the Soils Report to the Building <br /> Inspection Division. <br /> i. The proposed project is located within an expansive soil <br /> area where a conventional foundation may not be suitable. <br /> Therefore, an engineer is required to evaluate the <br /> foundation design. <br /> j . The proposed project is located in a subsidence area <br /> where a conventional foundation may not be suitable. <br /> Therefore, a complete soils report by a geotechnical <br /> engineer is required. <br /> k. Provide a technical opinion and report to identify and <br /> develop methods of protection from the hazards presented <br /> by the hazardous material. (U.B.C. Section 901 (F) <br /> 2 . A grading plan shall be submitted and approved and a grading <br /> permit issued by the Building Inspection Division prior to <br /> performing any excavation or filling of earth material: <br /> a. A grading plan shall contain the information listed in <br /> the U.B.C. , Appendix, Chapter 70, Section 7006 (2) . <br /> b. The grading plan shall include complete drainage details <br /> and elevations of the adjacent parcels. Retaining wall <br /> details shall be submitted where applicable. <br /> C. Grading in excess of 5,000 cubic yards shall comply with <br /> Section 7014 for "Engineered Grading Requirements. " <br /> d. All recommendations of the soils engineer shall be <br /> incorporated in the grading plans. <br /> e. All compaction reports must be submitted prior to a <br /> foundation inspection. <br /> f. All grading permits are subject to approval by the other <br /> departments. <br /> g. All grading authorized by the permit shall be approved <br /> prior to issuance of any building permits, or beginning <br /> of any construction. <br /> Note: This application requires a discretionary approval, <br /> (e.g. Tentative Map, Site Approval, Use Permit) . Therefore, <br /> a grading permit will not be issued until this approval is <br /> obtained. <br />
