May 15, 1989
Mr. Richard Larrouy, Associate Planner
San Joaquin County Planning Division RECEIVED
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, Ca. 95205 MAY 1G 1989
Dear Mr. Larrouy: SAN JOAQUIN c;uuNTY
The persons signing below wish to let!?WSf*T9_nnN0g1ON!
Division know that they are not in favor of the proposed
Use Permit Application # 89-23 to establish a boarding
sta e or privately owned horses on a 15-acre parcel.
Use Permit Application 89-23 , for the north side of
Waterloo Road, 400 feet east of Overhiser Road, north-
east Stockton does NOT, in our opinion, fit in with the
neighborhood. Number 10 on the permit asks for a descrip-
tion of any air pollutants or odors from the operation,
and the answer was "none" . We believe that any person with
common horse sense can figure when you have approximately
40 horses and the manure from the horses will be spread
thinly over the back 12 acres of the property to dry,
there is going to be a smell .
It is true they state a fly control plan that will
focus on the proper handling and disposal of the manure,
but no mention is made of odor control . Anyone who has been
near a horse arena can tell you there will be an odor. We
still have a concern over the fly control problem.
We ask you to please listen to the homeowners in
this area who are property tax payers and deny this permit.
We all have a long term interest in our homes and wish to
be able to enjoy our yards without the smell from a horse
arena.
Sincerely,
c' Lr
go SNyL
✓ 624
