Project Description
This project is to open a public boarding stable. The
renting, maintanance of the stalls and the feeding of the
horses will be our service. The facility will include a
covered arena, an outdoor arena and a horse trail thru the
back 12 acres. The perimeter of the property will be
completely enclosed with a five foot wire fence.
There are two phases to the project . The first phase is to
renovate and rent the existing 10 portable pipe stalls. The
customers will have the existing outdoor arena and the back
acres to ride in. The second phase, which is expected to
begin in the fall of 1989, is to construct a 18 horse barn
around a large covered arena. The construction of the second
barn will include landscaping, handicapped restroom, parking
and a gravelled road to the barn.
Manure Management Plan
I expect to have about 8 to 10 horses in the first phase of
the project. The stalls will be cleaned daily. The manure and
shavings will be put directly into a manure spreader . When
the spreader is full or about every 3 days the manure will be
spread thinly over the back of the property, about 12 acres,
to dry.
When the larger proposed 18 stall barn is finished. I expect
to have about 30 horses. The stalls will be cleaned daily and
the manure will be spread daily over the back 12 acres to
dry. After the manure has dried the area will disced to
incorporate the manure and keep the weed growth under
control .
Fly Control Plan
The main fly control program will focus on the proper
handling and disposal of the manure and shavings. surface
sprays will also be used around the existing pipe stalls.
The new construction will have a auturnatic spray system
installed.
Excess Water Management Plan
Water from the roof of the large barn will be diverted into
the existing watering system to the orc=hard. Water from the
existing pipe stalls is not a problem.
