12-28-20.06
San Joaquin Planning Department
1810 East Hazelton:Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205-6232
Attention: Mr. Raymond Hoo
Subject: PA-06-444 Sports Bar Application.
Further to my letter of 12-27-2006, 1 wanted to again thank you for spending time with
me today to provide further information relative to the basis of the decisions made to date
for the subject request. As discussed we will make it a point to be at the meting scheduled
for February 1, 2007, therefore, will appreciate any notices issued regarding the meeting.
1 understand your assessment calculation, regarding parking for the `Sports Bar'
application, but cannot agree that although the businesses adjacent to the 'Sports Bar'
(Grocery Market& Pizza Parlor)have been grandfathered,the `Sports Bar' application
should stand on its own. Although neither of the adjacent businesses have obtained `Use
Permits',had they be evaluate for parking requirements, combined they would exceed the
total parking allocated for the block of buildings, thus leaving no available parking for
the new `Sports Bar' application. Therefore, by not considering the combined demand for
parking, the traffic impact to Woodbridge only continues to worsen.
Again, thank you for the time to hear our concerns_ Your explanations will provide the
path forward for our next actions. We do support the Planning Departments decision to
not recommend waiver to the provisions stated in the Public Works MEMORANDUM
dated November 1,2006. We will work through the Woodbridge MAC group and the
Board of Supervisors to see if adjustments to the General Plan are appropriate to address
the Woodbridge parking issues.
Regard ,
ary & cy Herd
PO Box 488
Woodbridge, CA 95258
cc: Kerry Sullivan— SJPD / Mary Avanti - WMAC
