Water from the existing well at the residence(3212 Woodson Road),was previously tested for
DBCP and Nitrates. The tests were satisfactory.
SEPTIC SYSTEM REPAIR
Records at the Environmental Health Department of San Joaquin County were searched for
repairs on Woodson Road. The search revealed 5 locations on Woodson Road for repair. One of
the five was for a new system, the remaining four were for the addition of one 40' line and one pit.
Soil description was clay or hardpan.
SEPTIC TANK AND LEACH FIELD:
Development of the on-site septic system is to conform to the Environmental Health Division standards of the Public
Health Department ofSon Joaquin County. A gravity sewer system will serve one single family residence. A standar
structurally sound and waterproof, 1600 gallon, two compartment tank*is recommended.
The use of a garbage disposal requires periodic inspection of the tank more often than normal use without a disposal.
gravity effluent filter should be installed with riser to the surface and sealed lid This provides easy access to inspect
and clean the filter every two years or as indicated by periodic inspection The 4"Biotube Eluent Filter by OSI. or
equal, is recommended. The use of thisfilter adds a measure ofprotechon for the leach filed No traffic should cross
the leach field area. Compaction ofthte soil in the leach fieldarea reduces the evaporation rate. Tree roots maybe
harmful to the leach field.
*The most efficient septic tank is the Meander Tank by Willamette Graysion-Inc., Eugene, OR The design provides
about 4 times, the normal travel time in the tank This increases the settlement ofsolids and provides for a higher gra
of effluent too the leach field
CONCLUSIONS
The tests results indicate,qn on site septic system, with pits to 25', should provide satisfactory
service for disposal of clear effluent from a residence without any adverse impact on the area
groundwater near the parcel. Installation,by permit from EBD of SJ County, is to be in
accordance with Standards in affect at the time of installation.
HOME OWNER HELPS
Included last in this report are tips for the home owner. Maintenance is required on any on site
septic system. The system that has no maintenance will eventually fail. Also included is a fact
sheet for a typical effluent filter with riser to grade.'
