- - - k" KLEINFELDER
PVC pipe inserted into each hole, the drop in water levels were measured in approximate 30-
minute intervals for four hours, refilling as necessary to maintain the prescribed amount of
water over the gravel (SJCEHD Procedure #2). As specified, the last two 30-minute readings
were recorded under the observation of a representative from the SJCEHD and were used to
calculate the percolation rate in minutes per inch. A summary of the percolation test results are
presented in the following table. Both the initial shallow and deep percolation tests in Lot 8
failed. On the morning of March 17, 2005 our drill rig returned to the site and installed an
additional deep percolation test hole with the same equipment previously used. Upon
completion of drilling, the test hole was presoaked with at least 12 inches of water. This
percolation test was performed under overcast skies on March 18, 2005. Due to the rapid
percolation characteristics, after the initial reading, readings were taken at 10 minutes intervals
for a period of about 1 hour (SJCEHD Procedure 43). The final two 10-minute readings were
recorded under the observation of a representative from SJCEHD and were used to calculate
the percolation rate in minutes per inch. Details of each test can be found on the attached
percolation test sheets.
Depth of Test Hole Percolation Rate
Lot Number Date of Test feet) min./inch
3.0 10.4
I January 28, 2005 14.0 7.8
2 3.5 4.5
January 28,_2005 10.6 22.7
3.4 27.8
3 January 27, 2005 9.0 9.3
3.3 6.1
4 January 27, 2005 14.0 5.6
3,0 83.3
5 January 27, 2005 14.5 8.9
3.3 125.0
6 January 27, 2005 9.0 14.7
3.1 Did Not Perc.
7 January 27, 2005 6.9 3.3
3.0 Did Not Perc.
8 January 27, 2005 11.2 125.0
March 18, 2005 11.8 5.4
3.0 3.1
,. 9 January 27, 2005 11.6 3.4
3.0 83.3
10 January 26, 2005 11.5 9.3
.. 3.1 6.4
11 January 26, 2005 1 1 5.5
3.0 Did Not Perc.
12 January 26, 2005 7 8 11.4
52709 GOI/5T05R550 May 9,2005
© 2005 Kleinfelder, Inc.
