January 9, 1995
EXHMrT 1
Vicinity Map
The City is currently operating a 600 GPM wastewater treatment plant within
the Crossroads Ventures Industrial Business Park.
The treatment is extended aeration activated sludge process that includes de-
nitrification and chlorination.
The physical plant sits on 21/2 acres with approximately 24 acres of perc ponds.
This proposal is to relocate only the pere ponds and not the physical plant to
the 61 acre site on the south side of Highway 120 and generally along the eastern side
of the San Joaquin River.
The proposed site in over 1,000 feet from Oakwood Lake Resort.
Treated effluent will be pumped by a force main under Highway 120 and the
Southern Pacific Railroad track to the new pond site.
The effluent will perc through the soil profile and ultimately be discharged to
the river through extraction wells which will pick up the ground water 60 feet below
the ground surface. The process is somewhat similar to that of Oakwood Lake Resort
where they keep the lake water level at elevation - 14.00 feet sea level datum.
The proposed perc ponds are separated from Oakwood Lake by over 1,000
feet. Additionally the ponds cannot be seen by residence in the Oakwood Lake area or
patrons of the faulty due to the higher elevation of the Union Pacific Railroad track
and orchard which lies between.
1
