In,,_ry and Illness Prevention Progorn Employee Training The Company's operations involve several different activities requiring specialized training, including the following employee classifications: I. Drivers—require driver training,trailer loading and unloading,hazardous materials handling,personal protective equipment, respirator, heat stress and noise training. 2. Transloaders—require truck trailer and rail car training,trailer and rail car loading and unloading, hazardous materials handling,personal-protective equipment, respirator, heat stress,noise and emergency procedures training. 3_ Wash rack technicians—require wash system training, confined space entry, personal protective equipment,respirator,heat stress, noise and hazardous materials training. 4. Wastewater treatment plant operators—require treatment plant operation training, slug discharge control,personal protective equipment,respirator,heat stress, noise and hazardous materials training. 5. Maintenance personnel—require truck and trailer training, mechanical equipment safety training, lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry,personal_protective equipment,respirator, heat stress, noise and hazardous materials training. To accomplish the listed training requirements, the Company uses a number of techniques, at various times, including: New Hires—receive comprehensive training appropriate to the position for which they were hired, such as hands on driver training,video training including: • Drug and Alcohol Policy • Right to Know-MSDS • Hazardous Materials Basic Training • Right to Know—Hazard Communication Labels • Emergency Response • Respiratory Protection • Sodium Chlorite—Working with it Safely • Caustic Soda handling • Hydrochloric Acid handling • Nitric Acid handling • Sulfuric Acid handling They also receive handbooks and are issued appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. Quarterly Safety Meetings—topics selected for specific group, varied to provide reinforcement over time—including: • Hazardous Materials—hazard class,routes of entry, toxicology, permissible exposure limit, MSDS California Tank Lines, Inc. and Chemical Transfer Co.
