Ak CT
ACT Parts Washer Program:
Advanced Chemical Transport (ACT) provides service for Aqueous -Based Parts Washer Units. We have a variety
of shapes, sizes and designs to fit most commercial applications. Customers who use ACT Aqueous -Based Parts
Washers are automatically included into our consolidated parts washer program, unless they do not meet the
criteria listed below or if they choose not to be included.
Parts washers are serviced at regular intervals which are determined by the customer, ie: 1 month, 2 month, 3
month, etc. Every time that the parts washer is serviced the technician removes the old aqueous -based parts
washer solution (waste) and replaces it with new aqueous —based parts washer solution.
During the service process the technician looks to ensure the following apply to the waste they are removing:
• The volume in the parts washer solution drum has not increased from when it was placed.
• There is less than 10% of oils, grease, etc.
• There is no irregular odor present in the solution.
• There are no visible signs that hazardous waste has been added.
• The color of the solution is normal.
• There are no visible signs of contamination.
• Verify with employees that use the machine has only been used for its intended purpose and has not
been contaminated with something different.
If a facility is not able to meet the above requirements or has some other areas of concern, it will be excluded
from our non -hazardous consolidated parts washer program, and the waste from it will be classified and shipped
separately as required by California & federal laws governing waste.
If the above conditions are all acceptable then the waste is transported back to the branch where ACT has an
anual random sampling process for parts washer waste that meets the above criteria.
ACT's random sampling process involves the following:
• Take a retain sample from approximately 25% of the parts washers in the field once a year.
• Check each of these samples for any obvious variances from the above requirements.
• Combine the samples and take to Argon Laboratories for analytical testing to ensure samples meet
California non -hazardous waste requirements and meet the TSDF's profile requirements for our non-
hazardous liquid parts washer waste disposal.
Analytical results from the annual testing are available upon request.
