•
Harprit S. Mattu [EH]
From: Harprit S. Mattu [EH]
Sent: Thursday, October 01, 2015 11:43 AM
To: 'Washington, Nathan (NATE)'
Subject: Waste Tire Inspection
Attachments: 20151001113011509.pdf; 20150805111434300.pdf
Hi Nate,
I just wanted to let you know that I conducted a waste tire inspection yesterday. I left my report in your lockbox with the
manifests. I have also attached my report to this email for you. There were no violations or areas of concern for this
inspection. I did make one note on the report regarding the Tire Program Identification Number(TPID certificate). I have
verified during an inspection 2 years ago that the certificate is posted inside of the office. However, regulations state that
the certificate must be posted in a conspicuous location onsite. Because no one is onsite during our inspections we
cannot observe the certificate. I noted on my report to post the certificate outside of the office (maybe the door to the left
of the lockbox, shipping/receiving?). You can request another copy of your TPID certificate for free by calling CalRecycle
at 1-866-896-0600.
1 have attached a waste tire receipt and removal recordkeeping sheet. This sheet is to be used to document the removal
or delivery of used/waste tires when the tires are transported by an unregistered hauler in quantities of 9 or less. If a
manifest is received for a pickup, then this sheet does not need to be filled out. The removal of 10 or more tires requires
the use of a registered hauler and the receipt of a manifest. In the previous set of regulations, no recordkeeping was
required for the transport of used/waste tires in quantities of 9 or less by an unregistered hauler. The current regulations
require that the recordkeeping sheet be filled out in this situation. As long as McCoy is providing a manifest for every
pickup, you do not have to fill this sheet out.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can respond to this email, or call me at 209-468-3284, and I will get back to
you as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Harprit S.
