Mee&q Regarding Former CaWwrda Fud• r
838 Mokelumne Street,Woodbridge,Cal f` J
2. Six additional soil borings are to be drilled on site for the purpose of collecting soil
samples for laboratory analysis of petroleum hydrocarbons. Three of the borings
are to be drilled near the southern property line, near the southwest corner, and
three borings are to be drilled within the limits of the former excavation. The
borings will be properly abandoned following collection of the soil samples.
The latter three borings are to be targeted to penetrate, as nearly as possible, the
locations of residual diesel hydrocarbons as indicated by soil sampling following
the excavation (please refer to the enclosed figure). All six borings are to be
drilled to a maximum depth of 32 feet below surface; 2 feet below the maximum
depth of the former excavation.
3. The borings are to be sampled at 5-foot intervals, beginning 10 feet below the
existing ground surface, to account for the 5 feet of fill imported to raise the level
of the site.
4. The collected soil samples are to be analyzed, by a state-certified laboratory, for
total petroleum hydrocarbons, as diesel, by CAM-WET (waste extraction test)
method(s). In addition, selected samples will be analyzed by an appropriate
laboratory for petrophysical properties, including vertical permeability and porosity.
5. A results report of the findings from the soil borings and laboratory analysis will be
prepared and issued. The report is to include a discussion of the site's
hydrogeologic and other environmental characteristics, including soil moisture and
evapo-transpiration data, in support of the argument for site closure.
We appreciate the interest of the CVRWQCB in this matter. Please call me directly, as
soon as possible, at (916) 782-2110 if you have any questions or concerns regarding the
above understandings.
Sincerely,
AEGIS ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
J, ,,-- ..
Douglas I.
