(Aegis), on behalf of California Fuels, wishes to express sincere
thanks for the meeting held at your offices on October 7, 1992, to discuss the project
status and direction for the subject site. Please convey our thanks to Mr.
William H. Crooks, Executive Officer of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB), for his role in facilitating the meeting.
We appreciate the impact your taking the time to meet with Mr. David Atwater, of
California Fuels, my colleague Mr. Brian Garber, and me had on your schedules.
Nevertheless, we view the meeting as time well spent, and trust the experience served to
clarify the respective positions. Toward that end, I have outlined below our understanding
of the agreed direction the project is to take, including concerns raised in subsequent
telephone conversations Mr. Garber and I have had with Ms. Condon.
UNDERSTANDINGS
1. No new workplan will be required to document the additional investigative work to
be conducted at the subject site. However, Aegis will notify the CVRWQCB at
least 72 hours in advance of commencing the work. A site safety plan has been
prepared and will be on site during all in-field activity. The borings will require
permitting by San Joaquin County.
89-031 Y.LTR
GEOLOGISTS • ENGINEERS • GROUNDWATER SCIENTISTS
