Highway 99
Acampo,California 95220
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)has reviewed the analytical results
for groundwater samples collected during the quarterly groundwater monitoring events between
September 2005 and December 2006. None of the chemicals of concern has been detected in any
of the groundwater samples except for total petroleum hydrocarbons as aviation gasoline (TPH-
ag) found in groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-2 during the December 8,
2006, sampling event. Therefore, EHD concurs with the recommendation proposed by Advanced
GeoEnvirorimental, Inc. in Quarterly Report —Fourth Quarter 2006 dated January 24, 2007, to
omit the analyses for methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA), 1,2-
dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), and 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB) during the quarterly sampling events.
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) is requiring evaluation of
Environmental Screening Levels (ESLs), California Human Health Screening Levels (CHHSLs),
(San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board) and the potential for vapor intrusion
into buildings for closure consideration of sites having residual contamination left in place.
Therefore, you need to evaluate the threat of vapor intrusion inside the buildings located onsite.
Please submit a work plan to EHD by July 18, 2007, to assess the potential for vapor intrusion
into the existing onsite buildings, or provide a rational, with technical support, for discounting
vapor intrusion into the buildings as a potential hazard for this site.
If you have any questions regarding this letter please contact Vicki McCartney at(209)468-9852,
or by electronic mail at vmccartney@sjcehd.com.
Donna Heran,REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Victoria L.
