(AGE), for the above-referenced
subject site. The addendum was submitted in response to the EHD directives to install
temporary soil vapor wells dated 13 July 2009, and 7 May 2010.
The EHD conditionally approves the installation and sampling of three soil vapor wells at
locations illustrated on Figure 3 of the addendum. Following the installation of the temporary
soil vapor points, allow at least forty-eight hours for the system to equilibrate prior to collecting
the soil gas samples.
Two Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) analytical methods, T03 and 8260, are listed for
reporting total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as aviation fuel (TPH-av), and two EPA
analytical methods, T015 and 8260, are listed for reporting benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene,
and total xylenes (BTEX), methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), and isopropyl alcohol (IPA). If
the laboratory is using water-phase calibration standards to generate the initial calibration and
daily check associated with these soil gas samples, then the laboratory must not report the
results by EPA methods T03 and T015. (The EHD still has not received clarification whether
vapor-phase or water-phase calibration standards were used to generate the initial calibration
and daily Calibration check associated with reporting the results for soil gas samples V6, V7,
and V8.)
Submit a boring permit application, Master File Record (MFR), and permit/inspection fee of
$488 to the EHD and complete the sampling of these temporary soil vapor wells by 31
December 2010. Notify the EHD of pending fieldwork at least a week prior to the event.
