The scope of work
included advancement of four-inch diameter soil borings for well installation and soil vapor
samples. The objective of the proposed scope is to assess the potential for vapor intrusion
inside existing buildings located near the source area from hydrocarbon-impacted soil,
released from the shallow product line release.
AGE will advance three soil borings for installation of the previously proposed and
approved soil vapor wells under procedures outline in the AGE prepared Soil Vapor Survey
Work Plan, dated 11 July 2007 and Soil Vapor Survey Work Plan-Addendum, dated 24
November 2008. Each vapor point will be completed with a 0.5-foot length of
screen attached to '/4-inch diameter tubing extending to near surface. After installation, a
filter pack material consisting of pre-washed #2/12 sand will be added over the screen
interval to approximately 0.5-feet above the screen interval. Remaining annular space will
be sealed with Volclay bentonite from surface grade to approximately 4-feet bsg. The
surface will be completed with a traffic rated well vault.
