INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. Robert Kupka,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the <br /> enclosed work plan for 23987 North Highway 99, Acampo, California (site). The scope of work <br /> includes the advancement of a total of ten soil borings for the collection of soil and soil-vapor <br /> samples to assess the potential for vapor intrusion inside existing buildings located near the source <br /> area from hydrocarbon-impacted soil. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of <br /> the site is illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)has directed the preparation of <br /> a work plan to assess the potential for vapor intrusion (hydrocarbon-impacted soil-vapor) inside <br /> buildings located on the site.This work plan is prepared in accordance with Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for the investigation of underground storage <br /> tanks (UST) sites. The work plan was prepared in accordance with the EHD directive letter dated <br /> 14 May 2007 (Appendix B). <br /> 2.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> AGE proposes to collect soil and soil-vapor samples to assess the potential for soil-vapor intrusion <br /> into the existing buildings on the site. <br /> The site assessment will include the following tasks: <br /> • Pre-field work activities; <br /> • Soil sample collection; <br /> • Soil-vapor sample collection; <br /> • Analysis of samples at air-media, low detection limits; and <br /> • Report preparation to include fate and transport analysis (Environmental Screening Level) <br /> to assess the potential for soil-vapor intrusion into existing on-site buildings. <br /> 2.1. PRE-FIELD WORK TASKS <br /> As required by the CVRWQCB,a site specific Health and Safety Plan will be prepared in accordance <br /> with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities <br /> (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and federal (29 CFR <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
