Groundwater
A single well will be drilled on Woodson Estate property
immediately downgradient from the hazardous waste site and
as close to the Woodson Estates southern property boundary
as possible . A sample will be taken from each aquifer down
to the aquifer commonly used to provide drinking water in
that area ,
Both the soil and groundwater sampling will be conducted by
experienced engineering firms following appropriate
sampling procedures to insure integrity of the media being
sampled , and proper handling and transfer of the samples .
Analytical Program
The samples will be transferred to the analytical laboratory
where they will be analyzed for the following compounds *,
carbaryl ( Sevin ) , DDE , DDT , DEF , 2 , 4 — D ( acid + esters ) ,
Disyston , endosulfan , ethion , ethyl parathion , malathion ,
methoxychlor , pentachlorophenol , phenol , toxaphene ,
_ . _ trichlorophenol , and trithion . These chemicals represent
those identified by CDHS during their site evaluation .
- - - The laboratory will be certified by the California
Department of Health Services for the analysis of soil and
water and will follow appropriate chain of custody
procedures and required Good Laboratory Practices ( GLP ) in
handling the samples and conducting the analysis . The
level of sensitivity for each compound will be at a minimum
equal to that reported by CDHS during their evaluation of
the Lodi Airport Site .
Risk Assessment
Results of the sample analyses will be used to conduct risk
assessments for those compounds identified . Each chemical
found will be evaluated using procedural guidelines outlined
in the CDHS Site Mitigation Decision Tree Manual ( 1986 ) .
This information will be contained in a report which will
assess the potential human impacts , if any , to persons who
may reside on that property ,
Timetable
Depending upon availability of firms to conduct the
sampling , the risk assessment report should be available
