IrensearNa SACRAMENTO <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Heller First Capital Corporation (HFCC) authorized Versar, Inc: (Versar) to <br /> i <br /> r conduct a preliminary subsurface investigation, based upon the findings of 4 Phase I <br /> Environmental Assessment conducted at 503 West Larch Road in Tracy, California (the <br /> site). The site is currently vacant. The subsurface investigation was conducted as <br /> r specked by the HFCC letter of authorization.dated October 19,- 1993. Th'e%field work <br /> was completed by a Versar representative on December 13, 1993. Figure 1 shows thee° <br /> regional setting of the site. Figure 2 presents a site layout°.of the property. <br /> This section of the report describes the scope of work, site health:and safety <br /> procedures, and site background. <br /> 1.1 Scope of Work <br /> The objective of the initial subsurface investigation was to determine"if the soils and <br /> Lgroundwater have been impacted by previous operations at the site. To achieve this <br /> objective, Versar drilled a series of four soil corings and collected soil and groundwater <br /> samples for laboratory analysis. <br /> 1.2' Site Health and Safety Procedures <br /> A designated site safety officer was appointed for the field investigation. The site <br /> safety officer was responsible for adherence to the site health and safety plan as it <br /> appeared in the work plan, and was present during all drilling and sampling operations. <br /> 1.3 Background <br /> In August 1993, Versar conducted a site assessment.at 503 West Larch Road-site ,to <br /> investigate and evaluate its environmental condition. .The' site assessment included: (1) a <br /> visual inspection of the site; (2) a review of surrounding land use to assess the potential <br /> for environmental impacts and/or liabilities to the subject.site; (3) an investigation of the <br /> A <br />
