Former Beacon Station 494 October 8, 1996 <br /> Stockton, California Appendix B Closure Report <br /> September 1995 The groundwater pumping system was shut down because low <br /> concentrations of hydrocarbons were detected in samples collected from the groundwater <br /> morutonng wells Prior to shutting down the groundwater pumping system, the laboratory <br /> reported concentrations of TPHg and BTEX at below detection limits for two consecutive <br /> months <br /> May 1996 Groundwater monitoring was discontinued and closure requested Tables <br /> listing groundwater monitoring data from April 1992 through May 1996 are included within <br /> Appendix D <br /> SITE VICINITY WELL SURVEY <br /> A review of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) well records was conducted <br /> by Horizon Records were searched to identify wells within a 112-mile radius of the site <br /> Four wells were identified as Iocated within this radius The results of the well survey are <br /> compiled in the Well Inventory Table (Table 2) Three of the wells are situated to the west <br /> or southwest of the site Directionally, these wells are hydraulically upgradient of the site <br /> The nearest upgradient well located was 325 feet from the site One well was recorded as <br /> being located at D Street and Fremont Street The listed owner of this well, California <br /> Water Service Company, was contacted to obtain additional information on this well Mr <br /> Mike Camy of California Water Service informed Horizon that the subject well did still exist <br /> and was located approximately 240 feet east of the center of the intersection of East Fremont <br /> Street and D Street According to Mr Camy, the well is considered operational but has not <br /> been in use for several years prior to 1990 California Water Service Company also supplied <br /> Horizon a well log indicating the well is constructed of 16-diameter casing to a total depth of <br /> 242 feet bsg The perforated interval was shown as 140 to 185 feet bsg, 202 to 208 feet <br /> 1494 APB 6 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC <br />
