r — -
ti
Mr Kenneth Earnest
November 4, 1994
Page 2
July 20 to August 31, 1994
The vapor extraction system ran continuously during the reporting period except for an 8-day
shutdown to do a rebound test. Over the 34-day operating period, the vapor extraction system
extracted an estimated 228 pounds of hydrocarbons (based on field readings) The laboratory
results for influent air samples collected on August 4 and 12, 1994, indicated the benzene
concentration was below detection levels The resulting estimated benzene extracted is 0 0
pound Therefore, as of August 31, 1994, the cumulative totals for extraction amounts since
start-up of the system were 12,321 pounds of hydrocarbons and 211 pounds of benzene
For this reporting period, the ground water extraction system pumped continuously and extracted
14,433 gallons from monitoring well MW-3 As of August 31, 1994, the cumulative ground
water extraction total was 105,615 gallons
August 31 to September 22, 1994
The system ran continuously during the reporting period except for a 7-day shutdown to do a
rebound test. The estimated hydrocarbon extraction during this period is 153 pounds (based on
field readings) The laboratory results for two influent air samples collected on September 15
and 22, 1994, indicated that both were below the detection limits for benzene The resulting
estimated amount of benzene extracted is 0 0 pound Therefore, as of September 22, 1994, the
cumulative totals of hydrocarbons and benzene extracted since start-up of the vapor extraction
system are 12,474 and 211 pounds, respectively
For this reporting period, the ground water extraction system extracted 2,415 gallons from
monitoring well MW-3, bringing the cumulative ground water extraction total to 108,030
gallons The extraction volume was lower than normal during this period because of an
unexplained shutdown
Enclosure A contains copies of laboratory analytical reports Enclosure B contains copies of
field log sheets
AC I ON -
MICKLLSON • lrptisi mj
van DAM,INC
Consulting Scientists,Engineers,and Geologists
