r <br /> ACTON • <br /> MICKELSON • <br /> van DAM, INC. <br /> Consulting Scientists, Engineers, and Geologists <br /> October 13, 1994 RECEIVED <br /> 0 CT 111994 <br /> gNVIR014MENTAL HEALTH <br /> Mr Kenneth Earnest PERMI1 SERVICES <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 1900508/7 <br /> Subject Ground Water Monitoring Report, Third Quarter 1994 <br /> Beacon Station #494, 2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Earnest <br /> Acton • Mickelson • van Dam, Inc (AMV), has been authorized to continue quarterly <br /> monitoring of ground water conditions at Beacon Station #494, located at 2185 Fremont Street, <br /> Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (Figures 1 and 2) This letter report summarizes the <br /> results of ground water sampling conducted on September 15, 1994, during the third quarter of <br /> 1994 The procedures used to purge and sample monitoring wells and measure water levels are <br /> described in Enclosure A <br /> Ground Water Level Measurements, Hydraulic Gradient, and Flow Direction <br /> Depth to ground water was measured in monitoring wells MWA through MW-5 on <br /> September 15, 1994 Depth to ground water ranged from 70 34 (MW-4) to 72 18 (MW-5) feet <br /> below the top of the respective monitoring well casings Ground water elevations decreased an <br /> average of 4 07 feet between May and September 1994 Ground water level measurements from <br /> the September 15, 1994, sampling event, as well as previous ground water depth measurements, <br /> are presented in Table 1 Due to pump installation in monitoring well MW-3, ground water <br /> level measurements were not made in this well The pump installed in monitoring well MW-3 <br /> is activated whenever water level reaches 75 feet below grade, therefore, as long as the pump <br /> is operating, the depth to water in monitoring well MW-3 will always be 75 feet or more The <br /> minimum depth of 75 0 feet was used to infer the ground water elevation in monitoring well <br /> MW-3 under pumping conditions as represented on Figure 3 Figure 3 illustrates the inferred <br /> ground water flow pattern on September 15, 1994 Figure 3 indicates that ground water <br /> pumping from monitoring well MW-3 has influenced the direction of ground water flow towards <br /> the center of the site <br /> hp[005 gsh <br /> 4511 Golden Foothill Parkway,Suite 1 (916) 939-7554 <br /> EI Dorado HMIs,California 95762 Fax (916) 939-7570 <br />
