Robert,
Here is some information for the hazardous materials inspection. These will be a routine inspection. Feel free to call me at
(209) 953-6213 or email me at cruvalcaba@sigov.org . I will contact you sometime in November to schedule the inspections.
The Hazardous Materials inspection will consist of a verification of the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS)
information. There is a requirement to report hazardous materials which are stored in a combined total of 55 gallons or more
for liquids (gasoline, diesel, new oil, used oil fertilizers pesticides, etc.), 500 lbs. or more for solids (fertilizers, pesticides etc.) or
200 cubic feet or more of gases (oxygen, acetylene, argon, nitrogen, etc.).The reporting requirements apply to combined
totals, if you have 55 one gallon containers of a chemical this would meet the reporting threshold. Reporting would apply to
any hazardous material that will be onsite for a day or longer. For example, 500 pounds of fertilizer that will be used up in two
days will still need to be reported. There should also be a facility map. Guidance for the facility map is included. The
requirement to have a contingency plan also applies and is included. All these documents will need to be downloaded into the
CERS. CERS can be accessed at https://cers.calepa.ca.gov/ . I will have my computer with me, and as long as I have a cellular
connection, I can help with this.Training logs will also be reviewed for this program.
Your CERS ID is 10180961. If you need help gaining access, I can help with that. You will need to create an account if you don't
have one.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or problems you may have.
Thank you,
Cesar Ruvalcaba
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Environmental Health Specialist
1868 East Hazelton Ave
Stockton, CA 95205
t (209) 953-6213 (209) 464-0138 cruvalcaba@sigov.org
SAN JOAQUIN
