Samples shall be collected between 0700
and 0900 hours.
2 If the pond does not contain wastewater, that shall be reported.
' DO denotes Dissolved Oxygen. EC denotes Electrical Conductivity. BODS denotes 5-day Biochemical Oxygen Demand.
NO3 as N denotes Nitrate as Nitrogen. TKN denotes Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen. TDS denotes Total Dissolved Solids. FDS
denotes Fixed Dissolved Solids. Std.Minerals denotes Standard Minerals.
Standard Minerals shall include at least the following compounds: boron, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium,
chloride, sulfate, total alkalinity(including alkalinity series), and hardness.
GROUNDWATER MONITORING
Groundwater monitoring shall commence with the third quarter 2006. Prior to construction and/or
sampling of any groundwater monitoring wells, the Discharger shall submit plans and specifications to the
Regional Board for approval. Once installed, all new wells shall be added to the monitoring network and
shall be sampled and analyzed according to the schedule below. All samples shall be collected using
approved EPA methods. Groundwater elevations shall be calculated to determine groundwater gradient
and direction of flow. Groundwater monitoring wells shall be sampled monthly for 12 consecutive
months; after the monthly monitoring period ends, groundwater sampling will continue on a quarterly
sampling schedule.
Prior to sampling, the groundwater elevations shall be measured and the wells shall be purged of at least
three well volumes or until temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity have stabilized. Depth to
groundwater shall be measured to the nearest 0.01 foot. Groundwater monitoring shall include, at a
minimum, the following:
Type of Sampling Reporting
Constituent Units Sample Frequency 3,4 Frequency 3
Depth to Groundwater ±0.01 feet Measurement Monthly Quarterly
Groundwater Elevationt ±0.01 feet Calculated Monthly Quarterly
Gradient feet/feet Calculated Monthly Quarterly
Gradient Direction Degrees Calculated Monthly Quarterly
pH pH units Grab Monthly Quarterly
Nitrate as Nitrogen mg/L Grab Monthly Quarterly
