Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and have the potential to cause foodborne illness.All major violations must be corrected immediately.Non-compliance may warrant immediate closure of <br /> the food facility. <br /> #23 Rodents, Insects or Animals Inside Facility <br /> OBSERVATIONS:One live adult cockroach observed under the dishwasher.A few dead cockroaches observed behind the <br /> water heater. Implement pest control or increase to abate the problem. Correct by today. <br /> Per owner the facility is serviced by H &L pest control once per month. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Each food facility shall be kept free of vermin:rodents(rats,mice), cockroaches,flies.(114259.1, 114259.4, <br /> 114259.5) <br /> #38 Approved/Sufficient Ventilation and Lighting <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Lights in the kitchen, prep areas and dishwashing areas lack end caps on shatterproof covers, or lack <br /> shatterproof covers. Install within a week. Per owner he can't find the parts. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Exhaust hoods shall be provided to remove toxic gases,heat,grease, vapors and smoke and be approved by <br /> the local building department. Canopy-type hoods shall extend 6"beyond all cooking equipment.All areas shall have sufficient ventilation <br /> to facilitate proper food storage. Toilet rooms shall be vented to the outside air by a screened openable window,an air shaft, or a <br /> light-switch activated exhaust fan,consistent with local building codes.
