INTRODUCTION/SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr James DeMera of Mullen, Sullivan & Newton (MSN), <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this CIosure Summary Report (CSR) of the <br /> investigation of the former underground storage tank (UST) area at 126 South Main Street in Lodi, <br /> California (the site) The CSR is prepared in accordance with Tri-Regional Board Appendix A <br /> tguidelines for the investigations of UST sites The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 A <br /> plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2 <br /> 1 <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 1 21 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located in a mixed usage area of central Lodi, California, on the northwest corner of South <br /> Maui Street and Walnut Street (Figure 1) One single story brick building is presently located on-site <br /> and is currently used as a steel fabrication facility However, the site was formerly the location of an <br /> 1 automotive and marine repair facility (Stock's Automotive) <br /> ' 2 2 PRE-REMOVAL INVESTIGATION <br /> In October 1991, a gasoline dispensing island was discovered at the site On-site investigation and <br /> discussions with previous owners revealed the presence of a 500-gallon UST, used to store gasoline, <br /> that had been installed prior to 1950 <br /> ' Prior to removal of the UST, two soil bonngs were installed adjacent to the UST on 24 January 1992 <br /> by Earth Systems Environmental The borings were drilled to depths of 30 feet No hydrocarbon <br /> odors were detected during drilling, and no petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples <br /> ' analyzed, <br /> 2 3 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL ' + <br /> On March 26, 1992, the UST was removed by Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc The UST contained <br /> approximately 278 gallons of unleaded regular gasoline at the time of removal After removal, the <br /> UST excavation was expanded to 7 feet by 10 feet and to a depth of 6 feet Two soil samples were <br /> collected following the removal One sample was collected from two feet below the bottom of the ` <br />
