BACKGROUND
In July 1994, a Final Remedial Plan (FRP) for the site v,'as prepared by Geological Audit Services,
Inc. (GAS). The FRP recommended installation of a soil vapor extraction/in-situ air sparging
(SVE/IAS) system for hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water remediation. The FRP was
approved by the PHS-EHD in August 1994.
In July 1995, an SVE/IAS system was installed inside a fenced enclosure at the southeast corner of
the Art & Artists building. The system began operation in August 1995.
