The information in the SSNL indicates the
area is suitable for the proposed OWTS usage and does not pose a significant threat to
groundwater for the proposed building only.
• The percolation testing conducted approximately in the area of the existing OWTS showed a
percolation test result of 2.98 minutes per inch. According to the San Joaquin County OWTS
Standards, the minimum soil depth from the bottom of the dispersal field to highest
groundwater must be twenty (20) feet. According to the SSNL Study, the depth to first water
in this area is 30 approximately feet below ground surface.
• The SSNL Study submittal addressed the domestic wastewater to be generated from the this
proposed building only and indicated the domestic wastewater to be generated from this
building would be discharged to the existing OWTS installed for a 12,000 square foot
materials and equipment storage building with two bathrooms. The existing OWTS can
accommodate additional wastewater loading up to approximately 27 employees. To connect
the new building to the existing OWTS, a minimum of an additional 60 feet of leach line or
equivalent needs to be added to the system to accommodate the maximum 51 employees
and visitors indicated in the Study. The connection to the existing septic tank and the new
leach line installation must be performed under permit and inspection by the EHD prior to final
occupancy. Alternatively, a new OWTS can be installed to accommodate the new building
under permit and inspection by EHD.
1868 E.
