Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage Existing Septic System One septic system is currently located on the Site (Plate 3). Proposed Septic System California Concentrate intends to connect the new office building to the existing septic system. On-Site Septic Permit History The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were searched for the Site address. The following three permits were identified: • October 1951 permit for new septic system to serve winery. The system utilized an 800-gallon septic tank and one 25-foot deep seepage pit (18678 N. Highway 99). • August 1970 permit for change to existing residential septic system. A 1,200- gallon septic tank and 94 feet of leach line were installed (4664 E. Clarksdale). • May 2017 permit for new septic system to serve commercial restroom. The system utilized a 1,600-gallon septic tank, two 60-foot leach lines, and two 4.5- foot by 24-foot, eight-foot deep seepage pits (4260 E. Clarksdale). These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report. Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 24 septic systems per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site. The Site is located within an area of mixed agricultural, commercial, and rural residential properties. A mobile home park is located adjacent to the west of the Site, and a church is farther to the west. The old Victor Meats and Mokelumne River School properties are located to the north.
