The existing facility contains 66,735 <br /> square feet of buildings. The expansion is for two 12,000 square foot storage <br /> buildings totaling 24,000 square feet, which is equivalent to a 35.96% increase in <br /> floor area. Development Title Section 9-605.6(a) states that an expansion that <br /> involves less than a fifty percent (50%) increase in floor area may be expanded <br /> without requiring a new land use permit. Since the proposed expansion involves <br /> a less than 50% increase in floor area, the expansion does not require a land use <br /> application. The applicant will still have to obtain a building permit.
