5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol. The Soil in this area is classified as Acampo sandy loam and
Tujunga sandy loam as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, and as provided by the
United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service. (See Appendix.)
5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The soils
classified as Acampo sandy loam and Tujunga sandy loam in this area have a permeability that is
moderately rapid and the Tujunga loamy sand is somewhat excessively drained. The percolation
rate was 27.7 min/in. (See Appendix.)
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site map showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: (See Appendix.)
6.2 They inimum umber of shallow and deep percolation tests were performed for each
parcel., One shallow percolation test hole was prepared on the proposed parcel.
6.3 Description of the date, time and protocol used to prepare the test hole, including
depth and dimensions of hole, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak
(minimum 12 inches): The shallow test hole was excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 8 inches
in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of "pea gravel" in accordance with County Standards.
The shallow hole was tested by Mike Toy of Dillon and Murphy on May 20, 2019, at 7:30 a.m.
On May 19, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. the shallow hole was prepared and the 24 hours presoak period was
started. The hole was filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel at this time.
6.4 Description of the date, time and condition of the test hole after the 24-hour soak period
(hole still intact, hole dry, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak(minimum
12 inches): On May 20,2019 at 7:30 a.m.the shallow test hole was dry. Six inches of water were
added to the hole and the hole was deemed suitable to continue. The shallow test passed the
minimum County requirements.
6.5 The test conformed to SJC Policy EH 02-02 (correct depth,diameter,2" gravel,6"water
refill, correct readings recorded). The percolation tests conformed to San Joaquin County Policy
EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (including readings) was provided with REHS
verification signature. The rate was correctly calculated using the last reading. See Appendix
for Test Results Form.
3
