polysaccharides. If the soil/effluent interface is well aerated, a variety of soil microfauna such as
nematodes and protozoa may digest the clogging mat bacteria. This biological activity may be
somewhat inhibited by the clay soil structure.
If it is desired to theoretically maximize the life of the leachfield, the leachfield may be designed
with two separate fields. A manual diversion valve may be installed to "rest" one leachfield while
the other is active.
With respect to the protection of the underlying groundwater from pathogens and nitrates (NO3),the
depth to groundwater (75 ft), the high clay content soil and the low density of housing can be
considered favorable for the attenuation of nitrate contamination. However, it appears agricultural
practices have influenced the nitrate groundwater concentration of the aquifers which serve the
referenced well.
[7] LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this Soil Suitability Study are based upon current information concerning the
location and results of the percolation testing, and the highest anticipated depth to groundwater. The
results of the percolation testing can only be assumed to be representative of the subsurface
conditions encountered in the area of the testing.
It is our opinion that the findings included in this study are a reasonable assessment of the current
subject property conditions. This opinion cannot constitute a guarantee or warranty, either expressed
or implied.
Respectfully submitted, ►+
VALLEY AG RESEARCH <oo0 C
. a F \
N0. 04675 z
Don Chesney, R.E.A. * Expires:
Cv CA 1,l
vaffey Ag PP
searck
