26 March 1991 <br /> TRAFFIC STUDY AND ANALYSIS <br /> Introduction <br /> A limited traffic study and analysis was performed of traffic <br /> conditions related to operations at the E1 Rancho Rock and Sand <br /> Inc. Quarry located at 8000 Waverly Road, Linden, San Joaquin <br /> County, California. El Rancho Rock and Sand Inc. wishes to permit <br /> for a maximum of 100 haul trucks per day with an average of 80 <br /> trucks per day. The purpose of this study is to assess the impact <br /> upon traffic flow and traffic safety that may accrue from this <br /> level of truck operations associated with the Quarry. <br /> The roads studied were Waverly Road from the south end of pavement <br /> at the Foothill Landfill entry, past the quarry access north to <br /> Shelton Road, Shelton Road from Waverly to Escalon Bellota Road and <br /> a very short segment of Escalon Bellota Road from Shelton across a <br /> bridge over the Calaveras River to State Highway 26. <br /> Field Studies <br /> Two separate field surveys were carried out. The first of these <br /> was a road condition inventory. The second field survey included <br /> a one day traffic count including all turning movements at the <br /> intersections that may be impacted by the proposed project. <br /> Road Condition Inventory <br /> The road condition inventory was conducted on 12 March 1991. This <br /> consisted of a visual survey of the road which covered the <br /> following elements: <br /> 1. Pavement surface conditions which yield not only pavement <br /> surface information but also provide information on the <br /> substructure of the roadway. <br /> 2 . Pavement width <br /> 3 . Sight distances estimated to be under 500 feet. <br /> 4 . Traffic control signing <br /> 5. Alignment of the roadway <br /> 6. Business and residential encroachments <br /> *% <br /> CONDOR <br />
