Hammer Lane
IN Stockton, California 95207
63
7
i Dear Ms. Cotulla:
As you requested, attached is a report of our subsurface investigation
conducted at the above site. Six soil samples were taken from the tank
excavation areas and analyzed for Total Volatile Hydrocarbons. The maximum
A7 concentration of 4600 ppm was found in a sample taken from below the central
fuel . storage tank. This contamination, however,
is localized and appears to 1
ii be a result of overflow during filling. Representatives from your office and 1
onsultants, determined that excavation of rt
Groundwater Technology, Inc. ,, our
this minor amount of cont200nated soil was unneressary
Since no hydrocarbons were detected in any boreholes around the tank pit, the
contamination appears to be limited, to the backfill area of the original tank
locations. Considering the limited extent and minor amounts of contamination,
the significant thickness of clay layers underlying the site and the depth of
the. groundwater, the possibility for migration of hydrocarbon products to the
groundwater is very remote.
96'
F
Sincerely, #
Robert M.
