SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION RESULTS AND CLOSURE REPORT <br /> 909 Hammer Lane Stockton Calrfomia <br /> and recommended to the CVRWQCB, if these borings do not encounter soil containing <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> 3 0 SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION RESULTS <br /> 3.1 Soil 113ming and Sampling <br />' On September 23, 1994, soil borings SB-A and SB-B were drilled to depths of 40 and 55 <br /> feet bs, respectively, using 6 5-inch-diameter hollow-stem augers During drilling, soil <br />' samples were collected every five feet from 10 to 40 feet bs in soil boring SB-A and 35 <br /> to 55 feet bs in soil boring SB-B togs of the soil borings were generated based upon <br /> field descriptions and are included as Appendix B Soil samples were screened in the <br />' field for volatile hydrocarbons, using a portable photoionization detector (PID) Results <br /> of PID screening are reported on the boring logs <br /> Soil types encountered were generally clayey silt and fill material in the upper 10 feet bs, <br /> followed by alternating, mostly clayey, silt and sandy silt intervals to total depth <br /> Groundwater was found at 55 feet bs while drilling <br /> 3 2 Analytical Results, Soil <br /> No evidence of hydrocarbons was noted by field observations in any of the soil samples <br /> All samples were submitted for analysis to Curtis and Tompkins, Ltd of Berkeley, <br /> California, a state-certified analytical laboratory The samples were analyzed for <br /> concentrations of <br /> • TPH as gasoline, by EPA Method 8015 and <br /> • Benzene toluene, eth (benzene and total xylenes BTEX b EPA <br /> Y y ( ), y Method <br /> 8020 <br /> In addition three soil stockpile samples p p were camposited to one and analyzed for TPH <br /> as gasoline, BTEX, soluble lead and reactivity, corrosivity, and ignitability (RCI) to <br /> characterize for disposal <br />' The soil sample analytical results are summarized in Table 1 Laboratory reports and <br /> chain-of-custody forms are included as Appendix C No petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> constituents were detected in any of the soil samples <br />' 3 3 Dnll Cuttings <br /> Approximately 2 cubic yards of drill cuttings were generated, stockpiled on site and <br /> covered with plastic sheeting Based on soil sample analytical results, the stockpiled soil <br /> may be spread on site (per San Joaquin County), or transported by a licensed hauler to <br /> an Exxon-approved disposal facility <br /> 93473005 ARP g <br /> 1 <br />
