(Wright)has prepared this report on behalf of City of Tracy
(City) for the above referenced site. This work is in response to a directive dated February 24,
2009, from the San Joaquin County, .Environmental .Health Division (SJC/EHD) for installing
groundwater monitoring wells. The purpose of the work is to address contaminants from an
underground diesel fuel storage tank on the site and to further define the vertical and horizontal
extent of the Diesel fuel dissolved plume. Wright has completed an assessment of the area
presented in our report dated January 1.4,2009.
1.0 Background and Previous Site Assessment Summary
One underground storage tank containing diesel fuel for a backup generator at the Waste Water
Control Facility (WWC.F)was removed from the site in January 1.998 under SJC/EHD pen-nits.
One above ground tank containing diesel is located on the north side of the generator building
50-feet from the former tank pit. Soil and groundwater samples collected as a part of the tank
removal revealed Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPHD) in soil at 11 milligrams per
kilogram (mg/kg) and 580 rni.11igrams per liter(mg/1) in groundwater. On the basis of this data,
SJC/EH.D requested additional site investigation. The former tank pit is located within the
W WCF between several large treatment ponds. Tank.removal data from 1.998 showed low levels
of TPHD in soil and groundwater samples.
i
i
i
I
