(Wright) has prepared this the work plan for the
Initial Site Assessment Investigation at the above referenced (see Figure 1). The purpose
of this work is perform a reconnaissance assessment of petroleum contaminants in soil and '
groundwater near and around the former tank pit areas as required by the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS EHD) in their letter
dated August 15, 2001.
Background
On January 20, 1998 one underground storage tank last containing diesel fuel for a backup
generator was removed from the site under a PHS/EHD permit and inspection. Soil
samples and one grab groundwater sample were collected for chemical analysis. The data
showed Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel(TPHD) at 11 milligrams per kilogram in
soil and 580 per liter in groundwater were detected (as shown on letter from
PHS referencing ata`coo ected on January 20, 1998). PHS/EHD directed in their letter of
December 5, 2001 that a work plan be submitted for site assessment.
Proposed Scope of Work
Exploratory Drilling and Soil Sampling,
Up to four borings will be positioned to ascertain distribution of the TPHD contaminants
in site soil and groundwater. Drilling permits will be secured from the PHS EHD, and all
utilities will be cleared prior to doing the fieldwork. The borings will be advanced to
depths of about 20- to 25-feet (anticipating a depth to groundwater of about 10-15 feet).
67 E. 10th Street ♦ Tracy,CA 95376
209.833.0758 ♦ Fax 209.832.5152
wright@inreach.com Lic. #651501 A-B HazMat Page 1
websit http://home.inreach.comAvright
