Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage Existing Septic System No septic systems are currently located on the Site. Proposed Septic System Mr. Armer plans to build a new septic system for the new residence. On-Site Septic Permit History The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were searched for the Site address. No septic permits were identified. Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 190 septic systems per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site. The area surrounding the Site to the north and east consists of small-lot rural residences. Residences are present to the west as well, but most are within the City of Tracy and are connected to municipal sewer services. A gravel pit lies to the southwest. Commercial/industrial properties and agricultural land lie to the south and southeast. Septic Permit History in the Vicinity Based on a review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, most septic systems in the area utilize leach lines. One system used leach lines with shallow seepage pits, and one used a filter bed. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report. Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage Maximum expected usage on the Site would be from the future residents of the Site. Septic system design should be based on the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards (2017) or other engineering recommendations. LOGE 1922 Page 2
