SANJOAQUIN <br />COUNTY <br />Greatness grows here. <br />Environmental Health Department <br />Linda Turkatte, REHS, Director <br />Kasey Foley, REHS, Assistant Director <br />PROGRAM COORDINATORS <br />Robert McClellon, REHS <br />Jeff Carruesco, REHS, RDI <br />Willy Ng, REHS <br />Muniappa Naidu, REHS <br />Michael Kith, REHS <br />July 7, 2019 <br />Abby Racco <br />Live Oak GeoEnvironmental <br />407 West Oak Street <br />Lodi CA 95240 <br />RE: Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study <br />11006 East Hwy 120, Manteca <br />APN 228-030-26, 5R0080691, BP-1901555 <br />The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil <br />Suitability/Nitrate Loading (SSNL) Study, dated May 30, 2019 and submitted on June 3,2019 for the <br />above noted location and has the following comments for your consideration. <br />The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater <br />treatment system (OVVTS) usage and the potential impact of nitrate to groundwater for a new 3- <br />bedroom single family manufactured home on a permanent foundation on a 10 acre parcel. <br />Based on the information provided, the EHD finds that the SSNL Study supports the suitability for <br />standard OVVTS usage for this parcel for the proposed manufactured home, pursuant to San <br />Joaquin County Ordinance Code Title 9, Section 9-1105.2(d). <br />The onsite water well shows an elevated Nitrate Nitrogen level of 17.1 mg/I, which exceeds the <br />drinking water standard of 10.0 mg/I. <br />Based on the information provided, the existing water well has shown elevated levels of nitrate and <br />may not be a suitable source for the potable water supply for the new development without treatment. <br />A potable water supply that can provide a consistent source of safe and clean water adequate for <br />human consumption, cooking, and sanitary purposes for the proposed new home needs to be <br />established prior to the issuance of building permits (2016 CA Plumbing Code, Section 601.2). <br />If you have any questions please contact Michael Kith, REHS, Program Coordinator at <br />mkithsigov.org or (209) 468-3444. <br />Mich el Kith, REHS <br />Program Coordinator <br />c: Jerry and Linda Madzier <br />1868 E.
