SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br />Introduction <br />Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Jerry and Linda Madzier <br />to conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for their property located at <br />11006 East State Route 120, Manteca, California (Plate 1). <br />The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br />cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br />been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br />Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br />The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br />use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br />Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br />Proposed Development <br />The Madziers intend to place a new three-bedroom manufactured home on the Site <br />(Plate 2). <br />Site Description <br />The Site is defined as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 228-030-26, approximately 10 ) <br />acres in size. It is located at 11006 East State Route 120, Manteca. <br />The Site is currently an almond orchard; a shop building and domestic well are located <br />on the north end of the Site (Plate 3). <br />The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br />map, is approximately 50 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 4). <br />According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department <br />(www.co.san-joaquin.ca.us), the Site is zoned AG-40, General Agriculture with a <br />minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to preserve <br />agricultural lands for the continuation of commercial agriculture enterprises." <br />Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage <br />Existing Septic System <br />There are currently no septic systems on the Site. <br />LOGE 1924 <br /> Page 1
