In the event human remains are <br /> encountered during any portion of the project, California state law requires that there shall be no further excavation or <br /> disturbance of the site or any nearby area reasonably suspected to overlie adjacent remains until the coroner of the <br /> county has determined manner and cause of death, and the recommendations concerning the treatment and disposition <br /> of the human remains have been made to the person responsible for the excavation (California Health and Safety Code- <br /> Section 7050.5).
