Oak St <br />Lodi, CA 95240 <br />RE: Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study <br />16895 W Grant Line Road, Tracy <br />APN 209-140-07, SR0080543 <br />CO 'Y <br />The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has received the Soil <br />Suitability/Nitrate Loading (SSNL) Study, dated April 24, 2019 and submitted on April 29, 2019, for <br />the above noted location and has the following comments for your consideration. <br />The SSNL Study was prepared to determine the suitability for standard onsite wastewater treatment <br />system (OVVTS) usage and to provide an estimate of the potential for nitrate impact to groundwater <br />from a proposed single family mobile home with a maximum of 3 total bedrooms on approximately <br />0.94 acres. <br />Based on the information provided, the EHD finds that the SSNL Study supports the suitability for <br />standard OVVTS usage for this parcel for the proposed mobile home, pursuant to San Joaquin <br />County Ordinance Code Title 9, Section 9-1105.2(d), provided all minimum setbacks from the OWTS <br />and 100% replacement area to any water wells and surface water bodies can be met. <br />The onsite water well already shows an elevated Nitrate Nitrogen level of 11.5 mg/I, which exceeds <br />the drinking water standard of 10.0 mg/I. <br />Based on the information provided, the data indicates the shallow aquifer being utilized for drinking <br />water has elevated levels of nitrate and may not be a suitable source for the potable water supply <br />for new development.
