The letter discussed the onsite wastewater treatment systems (OWTS) usage and
impacts based on current activities and did not address any reasonably foreseeable future increase
of employees or visitors to the site, which will increase the potential of groundwater impact from the
OWTS.
Based on the current activities at the site and considering the discrepancy in the information provided
to the EHD, it appears the potential for nitrate impact to groundwater from OWTS usage would not
warrant any mitigation under these conditions at this time. However, any future expansion of OWTS
usage (additional employees/visitors) may require the submittal of additional information to evaluate
the potential impact to groundwater, including wastewater effluent sampling and reporting. The
conditions of approval for Use Permit PA-1900030 will be revised to reflect this new information.
If you have any questions please call Linda Turkatte, Registered Environmental Health Specialist,
at (209) 468-3912.
Linda Turkatte, REHS, Director
Program Coordinator
c: Keith Powell, American Crane Rental, Inc.
17800 S.
