KLE/NFELOER <br /> Rnght People.Right SaluM1ons. <br /> 1 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1 GENERAL <br /> Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our soil suitability and nitrate loading study for the <br /> property located at 17950 South Van Allen Road in Escalon, California. The development site is <br /> currently a vacant field between the existing Van Allen Elementary School and the Escalon Fire <br /> Station No. 2. The Assessor's number for the 16.95-acre parcel studied is 205-250-14. A site <br /> vicinity and well location map is resented on Figure 1. A site development plan showing the <br /> locations of our percolation test holes is presented on Figure 2. A recent aerial photograph <br /> showing the approximate site and parcel boundaries is presented on Figure 3. <br /> The purpose of our study was to determine the suitability of the property for septic tank usage. <br /> The study was performed in general accordance with the requirements of the San Joaquin County <br /> Ordinance Code Title 9, Section 9-1105.2(d). The following sections include background <br /> information regarding the project site, past and present uses of the site, and the groundwater <br /> conditions in the project area. In addition, discussions regarding our investigative procedures and <br /> the site conditions are included. Finally, the results of our nitrate loading calculations and <br /> subsequent conclusions are presented. <br /> 1.2 PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br /> We understand that an on-site septic/leach field system will provide sewage disposal for a <br /> proposed new Ag farm complex for Escalon High School. The development will include enclosed <br /> work areas, enclosed and open-air animal shelters, and a workshop. The maximum number of <br /> animals housed at the site will be as follows: <br /> Animal Type Maximum Number of Animals <br /> Cattle 30 <br /> Sheep and/or Goats 20 <br /> Swine 30 <br /> We understand one of the existing wells at the adjacent Van Allen Elementary School will provide <br /> water for the facility. A map showing the approximate location of the development, septic/leach <br /> field system is presented on Figure 2.
