18340 E Rodeo Drive Project No.2018-00037 Page 18
5.0 DISCUSSION OF NITRATE LOADING RESULTS
5.1 Total Nitrate Impact
Based on the methods and assumptions described,in addition to our professional judgement
and geologic setting,we believe the proposed project is unlikely to cause a build-up of nitrate
in the ground water above EPA maximum contaminant level concentration of 10.0 mg/L-N
over the long-term.
5.2 Methods of Mitigation
Based on the result of the nitrate loading calculation,in conjunction with the geologic setting,
we don't believe mitigation measures are warranted at this time.
6.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Our office concludes that the proposed project will not likely cause a build-up of nitrates
above the EPA maximum contaminant level concentration of 10.0 mg/L-N in the ground
water.
Currently, no mitigation measures are recommended. Mitigation measures may be
recommended/required by EHD at further date. To mitigate potential buildup of nitrate in
the aquifer, measures should be utilized which improve retention time and digestion within
the septic and/or improvement of conditions within the leach field, such as utilization of a
filter bed system.
If the county requires an engineered septic system, Petralogix can provide these services for
an additional cost at the time of the request. We appreciate the opportunity to provide our
nitrate loading study services.
7.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions
proposed in accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices. This
warranty is in lieu of all other warranties either expressed or implied. Test findings and
statements of professional opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or
implied.
The professional findings contained in this nitrate loading study are strictly based on the
information provided regarding the proposed project, other consultant's reports and
conclusions, surficial geologic conditions encountered across the site by others.
Furthermore, the analysis, conclusions and recommendations contained in this report are
based on the site conditions as they existed at the time we performed our study.
Petralogix Engineering,Inc.
26675 Bruella Road,Galt Ca 95632
(209}400-5729
www.petraiogix.com
